Administrative Assistant to the Artistic Director

Position Description
The Chamber Dance Project (CDP) is seeking an Assistant to the Artistic Director to manage the communications
and administration for the office. This person will be responsible for CDP’s web and social media presence as
well as communicating with CDP stakeholders to ensure offices tasks are done in a high quality and timely manner.
• Reports to and works with the Artistic Director
• 15 hours/week, with increase to 20 hours beginning February 1 through July 1.
• Hours flexible, but must occur on-site in our Metro Center office between 9 – 6 pm on non-consecutive weekdays • Independent contractor, own laptop computer required
• Company phone line provided in office
• $15/hour, paid monthly, with possibility to increase after 6 months

Job Responsibilities
• Organize and schedule meetings for the office
• Generate and provide reports to the Artistic Director on tasks and projects
• Send acknowledgements and marketing material to patrons
• Communicate with and organize materials for the Board of Directors
• Maintain a filing system for office documents
• Coordinate season schedules, travel and logistics with dancers, choreographers, musicians
• Provide support and presence at CDP events and June performances
• Work with and support to other staff as needed
• Manages and updates Database of CDP supporters and contacts (on Excel)
• Conducts online research, proofreading, editing, and other administrative tasks as needed
• Assists with promotion and marketing of June performances
• Shoots and edits videos for promotional material for social media
• Provide support for spring gala committee

Qualifications • College graduate preferred
• Knowledge of and experience in arts administration preferred
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage diverse tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and mail merge)
• Ability to create and manage website content with WordPress
• Thorough knowledge of and experience in managing Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest with creativity
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work
• Excellent written and oral communications skills to interact with artists, the Board, and patrons
